What is HCL Eco Safe Policy?
HCL eco safe policy is our initiative that encapsulates knowledge, awareness and developments on all environmental issues faced by today's world. The policy also elaborates in detail on HCL's stance on environment management process undertaken, assuring our commitment in delivering quality products solutions and services.
What is E-Waste?
E-waste comprises of all the wastes generated from used electronic devices and house hold appliances which are not fit for their original intended use and are destined for recovery, recycling or disposal.
What is End of Life Products?
End of Life Products are products which cannot be put to its original intended utility and is ready to be disposed off.
Can we throw away our electronic products in the municipal waste bin?
No. Do not dispose of your electronic products in the municipal waste. As these products contain hazardous chemicals which if not disposed properly may severely damage the environment.
What does HCL do to take back their products from customers?
HCL provides to all its customers the facility to give back HCL manufactured products at their end of life so that these can be recycled/ disposed in an environmental friendly manner. HCL extends its recycling facility to its users regardless of the fact, when and where they purchased the products.
When should I contact?
These services are available on all working days. So you can contact us through Monday to Friday excluding Government holidays.
What is the cost involved in this process?
HCL doesn't charge its customers & recycling is done free of cost to the customers. However customer needs take transportation to the nearest collection point.
What is the collection mechanism?
Once intimated to the above contact persons, they will guide the customers on where to deposit their old computers OR how it will be collected. The customers will be offered an acknowledgment of receipt for the products deposited. The customers will also be offered a proof of environmentally safe destruction of their E-Waste on request.
How does HCL dispose after collecting our old equipments?
HCL has a tie up with authorized recycling agency. HCL assures to all its customers the entire process of recycling / disposal of WEEE will be carried out by authorized recycling agency, Trishyiraya Recycling India Pvt Ltd, they will segregate, dismantle and dispose your products in an environmentally safe and friendly manner with the help of proven latest technology.
Why should we return to HCL, why not to the local scrap dealers or other vendors?
E-waste given to scrap dealers or other vendors may fetch you some money. But the E-waste may find its way to unauthorized recycling sectors which uses unscientific methods of recycling and recovery. This is a great cause for concern, leading to pollution and health problems. As responsible citizen, we need dispose of all the end of life product in environmentally friendly way. |
