TRAI study puts HCL InfiNet on top for dial-up Internet Services
New Delhi, September 2, 2003: According
to a recently released TRAI study on the 'Indian Telecommunication Industry Performance
Indicators 2002-03', HCL InfiNet, the wholly owned subsidiary of HCL Infosystems,
India's premier information enabling company, ranks among India's best Internet
Service Providers (ISPs).
HCL InfiNet exceeds the various benchmarks laid out by the TRAI study for being an
exemplary service provider. The service activation time for a HCL InfiNet connection
is a mere three minutes, and the time a user takes to access the HCL InfiNet account
is, on an average, just 28 seconds. This makes HCL InfiNet the most efficient
service provider in terms of dial-up connections. A whopping 98.6 per cent users
can access the account in the first attempt. HCL InfiNet, once again takes the
lead in this area compared to any other provider according to the TRAI study.
The ISP node unavailability is only 13 minutes for HCL InfiNet, which is considerably
low compared to other dial-up providers.
The mean time taken by HCL InfiNet for fault restoration is 53 seconds, which is the
lowest across all service providers. HCL InfiNet also has the advantage of being
directly present across the country, at 36 centres.

is not only a validation of our claims, but also serves as a challenge to live

The TRAI report provides observations on the growth trends in the telecom sector from
data available for the period up to the end of financial year 2002/03. The report
is intended to present a broad perspective on the Telecom Industry and was primarily
brought out to serve as a reference document for various stakeholders, research
agencies and analysts.
