Infosystems brings breakthrough technology to corporate and everyday consumer
PC users
Potential of Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with Hyper-Threading Technology fully realized with the
launch of Intel® 865G chipset for the first time in India
New
Delhi, May 21, 2003 -- HCL Infosystems Ltd., India's premier information
enabling and Integration Company, reinforced its position as the harbinger of
world-class technology with the introduction of the Intel® 865G chipset in
its PCs, ahead of competition. This chipset, yet another first in the industry
from HCL Insys, will enable users to realize the full potential of Hyper-Threading
(HT) Technology by synchronizing the performance of the processor, the motherboard
and the memory. This break through technology is being introduced in HCL Insys'
enterprise PC range Infiniti and consumer PCs Beanstalk.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr George Paul, Associate V P Marketing, HCL Infosystems Ltd.,
said, "Bringing the best of breed technology to customers at affordable prices
is a dream for many, but a reality at HCL Insys. The technology will be available
to both high and low end users through our two brands, Infiniti and Beanstalk,
coupled with our unmatched service, it is bound to deliver a richer computing
experience for them. We want to play the role of a catalyst in the adaptation
of innovative technology by either enterprises or home users. Our credo has always
been, and will remain, making technology affordable to the masses."
"In
choosing Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor with Hyper-Threading Technology-based
PCs, corporate IT organizations get more PC performance and responsiveness while
minimizing the impact of essential background tasks such as virus checking, email
encryption, and file compression, resulting in higher performance, manageable,
and secure infrastructure," said Jayant Murty, general manager - marketing,
Intel Technology (I) Pvt. Ltd.
"Platforms
featuring Hyper-Threading technology and the Intel® 865 chipset enable increased
IT and end user productivity while reducing the cost of ownership for corporate
PCs by advancing PC technology at all price points."
Home
users also benefit with these new HT Technology-enabled PCs giving them the power
to do more at the same time without sacrificing performance. For instance, users
can smoothly record live TV (PVR) while gaming without impacting playback quality
or they can play their favorite game while encoding the latest music in the background.
The new platforms also enable new usage models like editing family video to produce
DVD movies that can be shared with friends and families.
The
Intel's HT technology, introduced by HCL Insys in November last year, improves
reaction and response times, as well as allows servers to support more users.
HT technology basically allows the enabled processor appear as two 'logical' processors
to the operating system, thus allowing the execution of two 'threads'. Although
this meant at least a 25 per cent boost in performance, the full potential of
the path-breaking technology was not realized due to lack of the CPU speed not
being matched by an advance in the motherboard and memory technology. The path
breaking Intel chipset changes this by adding intelligence to help manage and
prioritize multiple threads received from the microprocessor.
The key features of the all-new Infiniti Pro BL series Desktop with Intel 865G chipset
include Front Side Bus with support for 800 / 533 MHz ; processors supporting
HT technology including the Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 3.06 GHz with
533 MHz FSB and Intel® Pentium® 4 processors 2.40C GHz, 2.60C GHz, 2.80
GHz, 3 GHz with 800 MHz FSB; memory support for DDR 400 / 333 RAM with maximum
memory supported being 4 GB; Hard Disk Drive supporting Serial ATA 150 MB/sec
and Parallel ATA 100 MB/sec based IDE hard disk drive; Integrated Intel® Extreme
Graphics 2.
This
latest range of Infiniti Desktop will bring a host of benefits to customers that
includes a stable platform supporting platform longevity for fastest Intel Pentium
4 processors with 800 / 533 MHz FSB; delivers increased system responsiveness
and performance through Hyper-Threading technology and Flexible memory technology
allows a spectrum of DDR RAM usage from highest performance to more cost effective
system. Other key benefits include improved performance with faster Intel Pentium
4 processor, memory bandwidth, upgradeability to latest graphics cards and connectivity.
In addition, it will also bring enhanced scalability and compatibility to consumers.
The
Beanstalk 4685 and 4655 series too have been specially designed to realize the
true potential of the Hyper-Threading technology by supporting the Intel Pentium
4 processor 2.4 GHz with Hyper-Threading technology, coupled with the latest Intel
chipset and Fsb DDR SDRAM. With their latest PCs, HCL Infosystems will be targeting
the home segment in the Beanstalk range and the enterprise segment in the Infiniti
range. While Beanstalk PC's are available from a nation-wide channel network,
the Infiniti range is customizable according to the preferences of the enterprise.
The new HCL PCs come with some exclusive features like the 800 MHz System Bus, which
provides the benefit of platform longevity. The 400 MHz DDR SDRAM enhances system
speed especially while using multimedia applications and the AGP 8 X Interface
provides the user with superior gaming experience through the use of advanced
3D graphics. The USB 2.0 ports come with an enhanced bandwidth for a variety of
today's demanding high speed peripherals like a printer, scanner, mouse, web-camera,
gaming device etc.
