SI Infrastructure

An introduction
World class infrastructure is the key to a globally competitive economy and India is working towards the same goal. A quantum growth is foreseen in the next decade for all infrastructure sectors where our areas of interest are Airport, MRTS, Highways and Ports. Innovation, development and ability to offer the most comprehensive solution our the key strengths of our team “SI infrastructure”. A massive development is planned for each of the above mentioned sectors by the Government and same can be gauged from the below mentioned facts about different areas in the infrastructure segment.

Demand for air transport has been increasing rapidly reflecting robust economic growth where the Government has planned an investment of Rs. 40,000 crore (US$ 9 bn) for airport infrastructure till 2013-14. Modernization of Delhi and Mumbai Airports is underway and Greenfield airports at Bangalore and Hyderabad has got completed. Modernization of Kolkata and Chennai process has begun and development of thirty five non-Metro Airports and north eastern Airports has been initiated.

The national highways (NH), with a total length of 65,569 km, serve as the arterial network of the country. The National Highway Development Programme (NHDP) envisages six-laning of 6500 km, four laning of 17,500 km and upgrading of 20,000 km of national highways. The projected investment is about Rs. 220,000 crore (US$ 50 billion) over six years.

Ports also play a vital role in the development of the economy. There are 12 major ports and about 45 non-major and private ports. To provide additional capacity and upgrade the present infrastructure to international standards, an investment of about 50,000 crore (US$ 11 bn) is envisaged in the major ports.

Mass Rapid Transport System (MRTS) has paved the path for a faster and effective mode of transport. With Delhi Metro becoming a landmark for other cities across the nation and globally, many others cities are following suite. The development of Bangalore and Mumbai Metro is underway. An investment of Rs. 60,000 crore is projected by the government till 2012.

Toll Collection Audit System

HTMS - Highway Traffic Management System
Highway Traffic Management Systems (HTMS) is used to collect/disseminate information for traffic and incident management and for the safety of the users.

The system shall consist of following various subsystem components:-
1. Control Centre
2. Variable Message Signs (VMS)
3. Emergency Communication System (ECS)
4. Surveillance CCTV System
5. Mobile communication System
6. Metrological Data Systems

Installed on an optical fiber network. The HTM system will reduce the anxiety of a road user through provision of emergency call boxes (ECB) by which a user can get connected to a central control centre and ask for assistance in case of an emergency. The system will also provide advance information on road conditions through variable message signs and detect congestions through closed-circuit TV cameras and traffic counters.

The Outdoor Equipments are connected to the main control centre through transmission system. The control centre will have monitoring equipment, online information acquisition equipment, processing equipment.

Control Centre

The Control Centre provides the core central office functions. This system at control centre gathers and processes data from roadside equipments. The system integrates various sub-systems into a common platform and offers a common database. The collected data is presented to the user using a graphical interface. The user interface for Variable Message Signs, CCTV system offer a simple pictorial interface. This is composed of a map on to which icons are placed at the equipment locations. The appearance of the icon indicates location and status of the equipment installed along the highway.

A status panel is used to indicate the Systems Alarm state. Any events are automatically logged into the system. Additionally user can also enter the event data.
