HCL Infosystems, India’s premier information enabling company, today announced that it has achieved the SAP standard application certification for its HCL Infiniti Global Line 4800 TG high performance servers based on Intel® Itanium®2 processors. With this certification HCL has become the only Indian hardware OEM of SAP to achieve the SAP Standard Application Benchmark certification in India and joins a handful of OEMs who have this certification worldwide.
SAP Standard Application Benchmarks help customers and partners find the appropriate hardware configuration for their IT solutions. Working in concert, SAP and its hardware partners developed the SAP Standard Application Benchmarks to test the hardware and database performance of SAP applications and components and advise customers on basic sizing recommendations. SAP technology partners run the benchmarks, testing different business application scenarios and verify scalability, concurrency and multi-user behaviour of system software components and RDBMS.
Infiniti Global Line 4800TG server takes up to four Intel® Itanium® 2processors. These premium 64-bit processors are specifically designed for next generation server environment; provide scalability, availability, and investment protection for critical business needs. The server is the ultimate in performance, density and availability for Enterprise level applications and provides uninterrupted service. The Intel® Itanium® 2 processor 1.60 GHz with 9 MB L3 Cache delivers new levels of compute-parallelism, scalability and reliability for databases, enterprise resource planning, supply chain management, business intelligence and other data intensive applications.
