HCL Infosystems, India’s premier information enabling company, today became the first company to launch Micro BTX (Balanced Technology Extended) Form Factor for desktops in India. The technology, which provides a better thermal environment, superior acoustic performance, improved motherboard design and an overall improved structural integrity, will be incorporated in the HCL’s new range of Infiniti Pro BL 1200 desktops. The BTX advantages include balanced system design technique that would match up with evolving platform technologies, and thus future proofing the IT deployment. BTX enables smoother and quicker operations of Desktops.

The current industry standard, ATX, was introduced in 1995. However, with the evolution of technology, it had become important to improve various functions like the heat generation in the CPU. In addition to the varied technological and performance improvements, the BTX, an evolutionary follow-on to the ATX form factor, ensures that the heat generated is kept to a minimum, thereby improving longevity of the system and proving cost effective for consumers. This new technology has been developed by a group of global technology majors led by Intel.

Commenting on the launch, Mr George Paul, Vice-President Marketing, HCL Infosystems, said, “The widespread adoption of the computer by consumers and corporations has increased demand for a wider variety of applications and form factors for PCs. This calls for constant innovation, and HCL has always been at the forefront of ushering in technology trends in the industry. The new BTX form factor launched today promises to improve the overall performance of the desktop.”

The form factor will be available with the latest HCL Infiniti range having 915G chipset & others to come in future.. The range is a brand of choice amongst a cross-section of markets in India including manufacturing, telecom, finance and banking, the government, defence forces and Internet Service Providers.

“We will soon witness a global shift from the current ATX standard to BTX, and we are pleased to spear head this revolution in India,” added Mr George Paul.

HCL Infosystems is the leading PC manufacturer of the country and has a wide range of Desktop PCs for Home/SOHO and Enterprise with a Pan India support footprint.
